Upcoming Venticool Publication: Overheating assessment & ventilative cooling in national building codes regarding indoor environmental quality and energy performance
Venticool is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a new AIVC Technical Note presenting the results of a cross-country survey on overheating and ventilative cooling practices.
Developed in collaboration with members of the Venticool Steering Committee, the survey was conducted between 2024 and 2025 and provides valuable insights into how different countries and regions are addressing overheating risks and implementing ventilative cooling strategies.
The survey covers 19 countries and regions: Australia, Austria, Flanders (Belgium), Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and England & Wales (Great Britain).
The survey gathered detailed information on assessment methods, performance requirements, and the integration of passive cooling concepts in both residential and non-residential buildings within current regulations. All information provided reflects the interpretation and judgment of national experts based on their understanding of applicable regulations.
National experts were recruited through professional and academic networks and selected based on their expertise in national building regulations and building performance assessment.
All responses have been systematically compiled and will be presented in comparative tables and summary figures within the technical note, offering a unique and comprehensive overview of current regulatory approaches across the participating countries.
Stay tuned for the release on the Venticool website.
