Large parts of India have reported temperatures higher than average with heatwaves beginning on March 3. On April 18, 2023 above-normal maximum temperatures were recorded according to All India Weather Summary and Forecast bulletin by India Meteorological Department.

In Southern Spain and Portugal, a similar situation is observed, with an upcoming heatwave forming on the weather charts, challenging the April record heat. Typically, the Iberian peninsula experiences noticeable warmth and heat waves beginning in May and intensifying during the summer months of June through August.

Once again, this is a plea for urgent action and a reminder of the increasing importance of designing buildings & systems resilient to overheating during shocks.
