CIBSE Natural Ventilation News | September 2016 issue now available
The September 2016 issue of the CIBSE Natural Ventilation News is now available. This Newsletter, aims to inform members and potential members of the work being undertaken by the Group to benefit the discipline of natural ventilation within CIBSE.
The specific issue focusses on ventilation research. Following the editorial, a first article reports on the creation and first meeting of the Low Energy Ventilation Network (LEVN), seeking to bring together those who research ventilation related issues in the UK. A second article then reports on the findings of the seminar: “2020 agenda for ventilation and air Infiltration: knowledge gaps, research priorities and the need for innovation”, hosted by the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre (AIVC) at the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Association’s (REHVA) annual conference in Aalborg in May 2016. The event identified 6 common areas of research where international collaboration could take place; many of these areas are related to the improvements that could be made to national housing stocks to reduce their energy demands, but without compromising indoor environment quality and occupant health. The newsletter concludes with the announcement of the upcoming conference “Breathe Easy—Engineering Air Quality Solutions Now!” on air quality, to be held on Friday 21st October, 2016 in Birmingham, UK.
