Measuring PECS Success: A Stakeholder Perspective
We are seeking your professional insight for a research initiative as part of IEA EBC Annex 87 focused on Personalized Environmental Control Systems (PECS) – personal devices such as heated chairs, desk fans, and personal air purifiers that offer localized control over the immediate environment.
As experts shaping the standards for indoor environmental quality and building performance, your perspective on how to quantify the “success” of these systems is critical. This work aims to bridge the gap between technical innovation and industry adoption by defining success metrics across energy performance, occupant comfort, and system integration.
How to Participate:
- Take the Survey (approx. 10 mins): https://forms.office.com/r/Wnvg0J39Uq
- Share with Your Network: We are specifically seeking input from stakeholder groups representing design, engineering, policy, research, manufacturing, building operations, and occupants. We would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this survey to your professional networks relevant to these roles.
The results of this study will contribute to the ongoing global effort within Annex 87 to establish evidence-based benchmarks for personalized comfort. Your responses are confidential and will be used solely for research purposes.
Thank you for your time and for helping us align PECS innovation with global industry standards
