The venticool-AIVC webinar Resilient Ventilative Cooling in practice held on 6 June 2021, focused on residential and non-residential applications and components of ventilative cooling. Peter Holzer, operating agent of IEA EBC Annex 80 Resilient Cooling of Buildings, gave an overview of ventilative cooling components (airflow guiding & enhancing ventilation components, passive cooling ventilation components and automation components). Ivan Pollet from Renson, looked into ways to characterize, test and integrate louvres in the EPBD regulation and presented Renson’s existing louvres applications for schools, students’ homes, homes, apartments etc. Nick Hopper from Monodraught, presented Monodraught’s wind assisted ventilation and natural cooling products together with installation examples. Peter Foldbjerg, from Velux, shared experiences from the Model Home 2020 programme (2009-2016)- involving 6 buildings in Demark, Austria, Germany, France and the UK-  and the RenovActive project -renovation social housing project in Brussels- making frequent use of automated ventilative cooling and solar shading. Jannick Roth, from WindowMaster, looked into the ventilative cooling integrated designs of a municipality building combining hybrid ventilation and solar shading, a courthouse incorporating controlled natural – mechanical and hybrid ventilation, solar shading, smoke ventilation and heating, as well as the Tower at PNC Plaza in Pittsburgh, US including a passive mode double skin façade and a solar chimney optimized system.
